Shipping Policy

In-Store Pickup

You may order online and avoid shipping charges by coming to the store to pick up your order. Plus, you’ll get to munch on free candy samples while you’re in the store! Please wait to receive a confirmation email that your order is ready for pickup before coming to the store. During warm weather months, we recommend transporting your candy in an insulated, chilled bag, cooler, or other container in order to prevent melting. We cannot be responsible for your candy once it leaves our store. You may pickup your order in-store during our regular business hours:

Thurs – Sat 11am-6pm
Sundays – Noon-5pm

Hattie’s Sweet Shop is situated in historic downtown Mt. Angel. There is street parking available around the store.

NOTE: You will need to present valid photo identification (matching the name listed under the “Billing” section of your order confirmation receipt) when you pick up your order. If you plan to have someone else pick up your order, that person will need a copy of your photo ID (a clear image of your ID sent via a smartphone is sufficient).

Shipping:

We only ship to addresses within the United States.

Not all of our products survive shipping intact, but we do everything in our power to ensure you get what you are expecting.

We use FedEx to ship all orders. An email will be sent to you that will allow you to track your order. Shipping charges are calculated using FedEx shipping tables and are based on package weight and size, delivery distance and shipping speed.

Regardless of which shipping method you choose, Hattie’s does not provide refunds for melted products, so please consider the type of candy you are purchasing during times of warm weather. See Warm Weather Shipping below.

Processing Time:

Orders ship fast. Sometimes same day, but if not, they almost always ship in 1 business day. Please allow two business days to process your order when selecting a FedEx shipping speed.

To help ensure a speedy and accurate delivery, be sure the shipping address you have entered is correct. Hattie’s will not be responsible for delivery failures in the case of incorrect data entry. All costs to re-ship an order that was misdirected as a result of an incorrect address will be borne by the customer.

Remember, fulfillment of your order may depend on the seasonality of the product and our available stock. Placing an order does not guarantee shipment. We reserve the right to cancel or modify orders depending on availability.

The shipping time frame in the shopping cart is an estimated date of shipping and arrival.

Warm Weather Shipping:

We cannot assume responsibility for products damaged in transit due to extremes in temperature, nor will we replace said product before reviewing the delivery circumstances involved. If questions arise as to perishability, please contact us and we will do our best to provide guidance.

In the event that a product is received in unusable condition, for reasons other than extremes of temperature, a claim must be submitted within five (5) days after physical receipt of merchandise as determined by FedEx tracking. In the event that a claim is submitted after the stated time period, we will not be able to issue credit nor refund product.

Cancellations:

Our candy elves will often pull, pack, and ship an order within minutes of our customers placing it. As soon as an order is “released” into our fulfillment system (which can be seconds after you push that submit button), it cannot be cancelled. Of course you are welcome to call us and check whether an order has been released and if it has not, we are happy to process your cancellation. We appreciate your understanding on this matter and we urge you to please take the time to carefully make your selections before hitting that submit button!!

If you are unable to cancel your order but still want to return the products, you have the option of returning or refusing the package once it arrives at your destination (see details regarding returns and refusal of parcels below).

Refusal of Parcels:

If parcels are refused, original and return shipping costs will be charged to the purchaser’s original form of payment.
